Snowboarders Henry Meece of Special Olympics Oregon and U.S. Olympian Chris Klug captured the gold at the second Special Olympics Unified Snowboarding Race at X Games in Aspen Thursday. Meese was among 10 Special Olympics athletes who paired up with 10 of the top action sport athletes in the world for the unified dual slalom race. Meece and Klug, a bronze medalist in the parallel giant slalom at the 2002 Winter Olympics, finished with a combined time of 36 seconds. “I’m double double stoked! I went as fast as I can — just bombing it! Straight down!” said Meece, a snowboarder for Special Olympics USA at the 2013 World Games in South Korea.
