Farrington High School Friends Program takes on the challenge every school year to #BETHECHANGE. Students with intellectual disabilities along with their friends who are our general education student athletes meet every week during lunch to hang out, play games, and form lasting friendships. They meet to plan and execute their very own "Friends Prom!" Where they transform the cafeteria into an elegant venue that is free of charge for their friends and their family members! They also create videos to spread awareness on how beneficial being a unified school can be! The Friends Program create their yearly campaign to Spread the Word to End the R-Word having rallies and whole school engagement. Our student athletes come together to help their friends train for Special Olympics dedicating their time to make sure their friends bring home the gold!! It has been amazing to witness tremendous growth from both our students with intellectual disabilities and our athletes! Watch the story here: https://youtu.be/lObIMlEfDlE
