As a parent of a child with learning disabilities, my daughter was thrilled when her school started unified sports 3 years ago. She has never been into sports, but now she plays basketball and volleyball, in fact Winnisquam Regional High School unified volleyball team (Tilton, NH) has won 3 state championships in a row and are undefeated. It brings joy to my daughter and myself to have such a great team! Not only do the coaches help the kids, but the athletes that are on the team are always helping each other out. This is one team that is an actual family and show such support to one another that it is amazing to watch. I am so proud of Special Olympics coming up with a great concept to help bring kids together that would never have talked to one another if it hadn't been for these great teams!
